The first session of 11th CPPCC and NPC National Conferences are going to open in Beijing on March 5 and 3 respectively. Frank Ning, Chairman of COFCO, a newly elected member of the 11th CPPCC Committee, will participate in and consult to national politics as one of 65 members from agricultural sector.
Frank Ning was born in Shandong in 1958, obtained his Bachelor of Arts degree in Economics from Shandong University and later his MBA from Pittsburgh University in the United States. Prior to his appointment in COFCO, Mr. Ning was President of China Resources (Holdings) Co., Ltd where he started as an ordinary employee in 1983. As President, he successfully managed to transfer an old SOE into one of most robust multiplied holding companies on Chinese mainland and Hong Kong. He assumed the role of COFCO Chairman in 2004. With his unique charisma and high reputation, he won extensive support from all the COFCO people and is leading the company on a healthy track of transition. He has been widely recognized for his leadership and achievements in the business community of China. Over the past few years, he has won a number of rewards such as 25 Most Influential Business Leaders in China by Fortune Magazine (Chinese Version) and Chinese Entrepreneurs Magazine in 2005 and 2006, 10 Business Leaders Influencing Chinese Management by Managers Magazine in 2007.
