AVIVA-COFCO Ranks Third for Income in the Past 5 Months

AVIVA-COFCO took in a total of 368 million yuan in insurance premiums during the first 5 months of this year, placing the company at number three among foreign-funded life insurance companies. The company is a joint venture of COFCO and England’s largest insurance group, AVIVA, which opened for business in January 2003 and began pursuing its strategy of “10 x 10 x 10,” i.e. set up subsidiaries in 10 provinces or cities directly under the central government and capture an average of 10% of new client business in those regions by the year 2010.
