Huang Ju, Vice-Premier, Inspects Great Ocean Oils and Grains Industries Release Time : 2012-03-20

On January 3, Huang Ju, member of the Standing Committee of the Political Bureau of the CPC Central Committee and Vice-Premier of the State Council, accompanied by major Party and government leaders from the Guangxi Zhuang Minority Autonomous Region, inspected the facilities of Great Ocean Oils and Grains Industries (Great Ocean), a xaqwtg.company.

Vice-Premier Huang Ju visited the company’s refining plant, commercial packaging plant, finished product warehouse and product display counter where he listened to relevant plant personnel discuss the company’s stockholders, scale of production, import of raw materials, product sales and other information about the company. He personally praised Great Ocean’s energetic response to the strategic resolution of the Party and central government to carry out large-scale development of the western region of the country. He expressed the hope that everyone would work diligently to promote continued development and growth of the company so that the company could make even greater contributions to development of the western region.

Vice-Premier Huang Ju pointed out that grain and oil products touch the lives of tens of thousands of people and affect the health and safety of the general public. Therefore, enterprises must stress the political significance of their work and constantly improve product quality and safeguard food safety to truly protect the interests of the people and work to improve the living standards of the people through their contributions and efforts.

Great Ocean Oils and Grains Industries is an important component of COFCO’s participation in the government’s program for extensive development of the country’s western region. This project covers an area of over 200 mu and required a total investment of US$ 60 million. Construction was completed and operation begun November 2001. The facility mainly produces “Fortune” brand vegetable oil and “Four Seas” soybean meal, complemented by related products produced by further processing.
